Good info!, I have answr'd 1 blind rev autopatch that I can remember, years ago, no issues. Years ago it occured often on net night but it was always schedualed, never blind for the net control. This will become a volitle subject before it is done but if we are to adopt a policy it must include some provision for pre-arrangment, ie: a schedual, we have no way to screen an incoming call before it goes out on the air that I know of. This isssue will fall upon the users to be responsible and to pre-advise. Tonight's net did not present a new issue, it only brought to light an existing, potential problem that has not been looked at or really thoght about for a lot of years. Feature there,great, use it, but, what if........?
This will be a tough subject to set a standard that will protect and provide at the same time. I have ideas but no absolute solutions, they will make someone happy but someone else unhappy. 73 de KC6MFJ k

=====================================================
Reverse Autopatch
No unlicensed person may initiate an amateur transmission without the knowledge and approval of the station's control operator. Incoming calls to an autopatch must be answered and screened off the air by the control operator to ensure rule compliance. If an incoming call automatically causes the repeater to transmit, even if it's just a signal tone or notification message, then it is possible for an unlicensed person to initiate a transmission without the control operator's knowledge or approval, which is not permitted. The use of a reverse autopatch is permitted only under very limited conditions. This is not to restrict the Amateur Service unduly, but to protect the character of the service.
